OUR STORY: Building the Future, One Young Mind at a Time
The story of Tex:CS began with a simple yet powerful idea: to empower the youngest minds of our society with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world. We knew that early childhood is a crucial time for learning and development, so we set out to create a program that would introduce young children to the wonders of computer science in a way that was both accessible and exciting.
About the Project

Think of it as a superhero team up! Researchers and educators join forces to:
- Cook up and test exciting new ways to learn.
- Fine-tune ideas through multiple trials.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships.
- Make a real difference in education.

- Design a fun, culturally relevant robotics program for Black and Latinx pre-schoolers.
- Make sure it rocks both in the classroom and at home.
- See how the CRR Program boosts kids computational thinking skills.
- Check how much it makes them feel like the belong in the world of computer science.

- Hot Jobs: Careers in computer science are exploding, with opportunities across cool industries like tech, healthcare and even defense.
- Diversity Needed: Right now, only 15% of computer science majors are women and urban schools often lack computer science programs.
- Early Start: Getting kids into coding and robotics early can light a spark that lasts a lifetime. So has the
- Break Barriers: The CRR Program is here to give Black and Latinx preschoolers a head start in STEM, paving the way for a tech world where everyone belongs.
